fallBALL: Fall Ball is getting fired up. Fall Ball is an excellent way for the girls to keep up on their skills and play a relaxed schedule. The season generally runs early September through mid October with each team playing two games per Sunday. The fee is minimal ($50 or less) and each player receives a team shirt. Forms may be downloaded from this site and mailed back to the league no later than August 15th. We currently have coaches for all levels. You may be contacted to see if your daughter is interested in playing Fall ball.

fallCLINICS: Starting Wednesday Sept. 17 we will be holding clinics/practices for all girls ages 12 & UP at the Complex (most likely on Field 1). Start time will be 6:30 and run for approximately 1 1/2 hours. We will also have times available following the Fall ball home games for any girl interested in brushing up on their skills. Many players from the local Blast team will be at there to help. Both Clinics will run into late Fall depending on participation. Please feel free to contact John Squadrito if you have any questions 852-5502.
recentNEWS: We are excited to report that the Board has approved two major improvements to our complex. Field 2 has been resurfaced and feild 1 repaired. This will minimize the need to cancel games on Field 2 in the future and help to keep scheduled games in tact. The pitcher's mound, home plate and batter's boxes received permanent clay bricks to assist in the durability of those areas. In addition the field was "cut out" and material spread over the entire surface. Another major improvement is an addition to the concession stand which is scheduled to be completed this Fall. This being a much needed improvement, will provide additional space for freezers, coolers and storage to support the tremendous growth the league is experiencing. Both improvements are a result of feedback we received throughout the year and from surveys completed at the end of year picnic. Financially the league is in great shape and we are putting funds back into the league for the benefit of the entire membership. It's because of your support that this league is so successful. We all should be proud of our league!
summerHAPPENINGS: All Clinics, Travel, and the "Blast" games have concluded! Thank you for your participation and support of all programs!
annualMEETING: The league's Annual meeting will be held on Wednesday October 15th at 6:30pm at the Brunswick Community Center, Keyes Lane. (This was stated in the August newsletter to be 10/1). We will be re-capping the year, reviewing the fiscal 2007-2008 financial statement and voting on next year's Board. Voting will take place from 6:30-7:30 pm. A presentation will be made to the general public in attendance at 7:00pm. This meeting is open to the general membership and all are encouraged to come. Any member of the general membership may nominate themself or another person for any Board position. Following the vote for Board members, the future Board will be introduced. Serving on the Board does require a lot of time though it is a positive experience. If you are interested please feel free to contact any of the current Board members.
If you would like to volunteer in anyway, we'd like to hear from you!
WINTER CLINICS: Pitching and fundamental clinics have concluded for the season. We hope to continue the clinics for the 2008-2009 winter months. Thank you for participating.
The BGSL summer travel program provides players the opportunity to play softball in a more competitive environment. The girls play against other area leagues in the Hudson Mohawk District Traveling League and also participate in tournaments. A commitment is required of all players to attend practices and games. Travel teams are scheduled to play 12 games, which include two double-headers in June and weeknight games throughout July. In addition, the teams will compete in tournaments. The registration fee will be approximately $150 which includes high quality uniforms. Teams may and are encouraged to fundraise to help offset costs.
